Well, this morning I rolled a 911 scratch series (4 games: 200, 246, 210, 255). I won one game. Bowling on 8 different lanes, the conditions changed every time. I bowled on one end of the house to the other. First game was a struggle, the second game was very nice-- used a Killer Instinct. The third game was on lanes 1 & 2, which is always a challenge-- 210 with using 3 balls just to get that much. Fourth game, I just let it all hang out with the Killer Instinct again -- 255.
If anything today, I did not listen to my instincts right away for changes and adjustments, but listened enough not to lose the day.
Finally, a 300! with a 771 series. The first game I used a Killer Instinct (just got used and redrilled): 233 the first attempt at using it in a full game. It rolled long and then snapped to the pocket. Very nice roll. Afterwards, I went back to using The One: 238, 300. Just unbelievable. All solid pocket, hard strikes. My wife, son, daughter and a gathering of observers were there. I rolled the game pretty fast. I have gotten close before and was determined to finish this game; no yips in the 10th frame!
Many people explain that getting those last strikes is hard. They are right! This time, I was "in the moment" .. zen, if you will... not a lot of thinking. Every release, I knew what the ball was going to do, even if I tightened the line up. Throughout the years and trying of many brands, I have found great success with Ebonite products. I have Storm and Columbia and they are fine, but from the Red Wolf (which my son throws now with 191 average in his youth league), the Matrix III, the V2 series, and now The One... just really great stuff. I will say the Aggression stunk. LOL (For those wondering, I have thrown the Rhino RS, Messenger, Blaze, and Reloaded with some good success as well). I have dropped my weight from 16 to 15 and it has made a major difference.
Five weeks ago, I hit a hole in one on a cold blistery day, now this.
